Home Economics Jr.

Home Economics Jr. is a playful and practical class designed for students ages 5–10 to build essential life skills through fun, hands-on activities. This program introduces young learners to the basics of cooking, cleaning, self-care, and simple sewing in an age-appropriate and engaging way. With a strong focus on independence, responsibility, and creativity, students will explore real-world skills that help them grow both at home and in the classroom.

In this class, students will:

  • Learn kitchen safety and prepare no-heat snacks using safe tools and ingredients.
  • Practice laundry basics, including folding and sorting clothes.
  • Explore beginning sewing through simple hand-stitching and button work.
  • Build healthy habits through routines like personal hygiene and cleaning up.
  • Introduce smart choices with beginner lessons in budgeting and responsibility.

Perfect for elementary-aged learners, Home Economics Jr. empowers students to take pride in their everyday abilities while learning practical skills in a fun, supportive environment!

Schedule

Days and Times: Starting August 28th: Thursdays 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM for students ages 5-10

Siblings: Do you have children in different age groups who both want to do class? Contact Miss Sarah to discuss the best session option for your students!

Cost Per Class: $375 for 16-weeks

Step Up: If you will be using Step Up for Students to cover the cost of class, please proceed to the checkout and use code “stepup”. This will reserve your spot for the class. Payment can be made directly through the EMA marketplace. Search for “Gulf Coast Scholars” and select the correct amount. Please note that registration and payment must be submitted before the class begins.

Sarah Dibeler, a Florida native, is a dedicated educator with a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Florida Gulf Coast University. With six years of experience working with children and three teaching endorsements, Sarah is committed to creating enriching learning environments that inspire young minds to thrive. Passionate about personalized instruction, she believes in empowering students to reach their full potential.

Tiani Rosado is a painter and versatile artist based in Fort Myers, Fl. Tiani’s artwork is known for it’s bright colors and dream – like subjects. When she is not showcasing her artwork at local shows and galleries, she is teaching classes for the youth. With a background in education and 8 years of experience making and selling her artwork, Tiani provides the perfect safe space to create, have fun, and learn something new about art.
