Home Economics

Home Economics is a practical and engaging class designed for students ages 5–10 to learn essential life skills through fun, hands-on activities. This interactive class encourages independence, responsibility, and confidence as students explore everyday tasks in a safe and supportive environment.

In this class, students will:

  • Learn basic cooking and food preparation skills, including measuring, mixing, and kitchen safety.
  • Practice simple sewing, crafting, and fine motor skill activities.
  • Explore home organization skills such as cleaning, sorting, and tidying up spaces.
  • Gain early understanding of money concepts and real-world decision-making through age-appropriate activities.
  • Develop responsibility and independence through hands-on, real-life projects they can use every day.

Perfect for young learners, Home Economics Lab gives students the opportunity to build confidence and practical life skills while having fun learning how the world around them works

Days and Times: Monday and/or Fridays 10:15am-11:15am starting the week of August 17th 2026

 

Cost Per Class: $450 for 18-weeks

 

Step Up: If you will be using Step Up for Students to cover the cost of class, please proceed to the checkout and use code “stepup”. This will reserve your spot for the class. Payment can be made directly through the EMA marketplace. Search for “Gulf Coast Scholars” and select the correct amount. Sarah Dibeler, a Florida native, is a dedicated educator with a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Florida Gulf Coast University. With six years of experience working with children and three teaching endorsements, Sarah is committed to creating enriching learning environments that inspire young minds to thrive. Passionate about personalized instruction, she believes in empowering students to reach their full potential.

Tiani Rosado is a painter and versatile artist based in Fort Myers, Fl. Tiani’s artwork is known for it’s bright colors and dream – like subjects. When she is not showcasing her artwork at local shows and galleries, she is teaching classes for the youth. With a background in education and 8 years of experience making and selling her artwork, Tiani provides the perfect safe space to create, have fun, and learn something new about art.
