Open Art Lab: K-5

Open Art Lab is a fun and flexible art class designed for students in grades K–5 to explore their creativity through open-ended projects and hands-on experimentation. This student-led program encourages imagination, decision-making, and confidence as young artists choose their own materials and create at their own pace.

In this class, students will:

  • Explore a wide variety of art materials including paint, markers, clay, collage, and recycled items

  • Learn how to plan, create, and reflect on their own artistic ideas

  • Practice skills like drawing, cutting, gluing, building, and layering

  • Develop personal projects inspired by their interests and creative curiosity

  • Participate in a relaxed and supportive environment that celebrates individuality

Perfect for curious and independent learners, Open Art Lab gives students the freedom to experiment, take creative risks, and enjoy the process of making art.

Schedule

Days and Times: Starting August 14th: Thursdays from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM for kindergarten through 5th grade.

Siblings: Do you have children in different age groups who both want to do class? Contact Miss Sarah to discuss the best session option for your students!

Cost Per Class: Drop-In $30 or $80 for all 3 sessions

Step Up: If you will be using Step Up for Students to cover the cost of class, please proceed to the checkout and use code “stepup”. This will reserve your spot for the class. Payment can be made directly through the EMA marketplace. Search for “Gulf Coast Scholars” and select the correct amount. Please note that registration and payment must be submitted before the class begins.

Sarah Dibeler, a Florida native, is a dedicated educator with a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Florida Gulf Coast University. With six years of experience working with children and three teaching endorsements, Sarah is committed to creating enriching learning environments that inspire young minds to thrive. Passionate about personalized instruction, she believes in empowering students to reach their full potential.

Tiani Rosado is a painter and versatile artist based in Fort Myers, Fl. Tiani’s artwork is known for it’s bright colors and dream – like subjects. When she is not showcasing her artwork at local shows and galleries, she is teaching classes for the youth. With a background in education and 8 years of experience making and selling her artwork, Tiani provides the perfect safe space to create, have fun, and learn something new about art.
